Overview
The National Commission for Higher Education (NCHE) is formally established by the Higher Education Law signed into effect by the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia and the Parliament on December 4, 2024. As an official legal entity, the NCHE has been granted a legal personality, which allows it to hold and manage property, enter into legal agreements, and litigate in its own name.1 The Commission is tasked with the comprehensive guidance, regulation, development, and quality assurance of all higher education institutions throughout the country, encompassing both public and private institutions.
